True Red turns the colors of your camera into the colors you want – for whole series of photos at once.
True Red is a standalone app: it shows your Apple Photos library 1:1, albums included, and leaves your originals untouched. Results are added as new photos.
Too loud reds? Skies not deep enough? Build a recipe once and reuse it forever.
PRESETS AND LUTS • Your own presets and .cube or .vlt LUTs in one list, each with a live preview of your photo • Subfolders become collections, ZIP archives are unpacked automatically • Favorites and your own tags (e.g. Street, Film, Portrait) with a quick filter • Drag a look onto one or many photos: a drop of water, a preview, then Apply • Export any look as a .cube LUT for other apps
DEVELOPED FROM RAW • Develops from the RAW file whenever possible • Keeps the framing chosen in the camera, e.g. aspect ratio or crop frame lines stored in the DNG • White balance shift in steps like classic film-simulation recipes (R+2, B−4 …) • Exposure, contrast, highlights, shadows, saturation and vibrance
COLOR WHEELS • Three hexagon wheels for shadows, midtones and highlights • Move eight color ranges in hue, saturation and – with ⌥ – luminance • Tint each tonal range with the center point • Pick a disturbing color right in the photo with the eyedropper and move only that color • Black hole: stretch the whole spectrum in one direction
BLACK & WHITE • Channel mixer with classic red, orange, yellow and green filters – for dramatic dark skies
COMPARE • Original and result side by side, zoom and pan in sync • Before/after divider right on the original
SAFE FOR YOUR ORIGINALS • Results are saved as new photos in an album “True Red”, together with the original • RAW files are never changed; edits applied to an original can be reverted any time • Keywords, caption, photographer and copyright are written into every saved photo
